ARTree will be there!
This Saturday at the Old Town Newhall Library, a collaborative festival sponsored by the SCV Education Foundation, will be held from 10am – 3pm. ARTree member Suzanne Ulloa, will be at our booth leading our memory collage activity, with help from the Saugus High Rotary Interact Club.
In its 8th year Santa Clarita’s Literacy & Arts Festival offers the community an opportunity to explore, play, see, create and hear the different forms of arts and literacy. Surrounded by books, guests will be entertained by storytellers that include favorite authors and performers. On hand will be several art activities to let your imaginations run wild, music to enjoy and instruments to explore. Exhibits and interactive demos will highlight ways in which the arts are now being integrated in public schools throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
It was a beautiful day outside and inside the Newhall Library.
Over 3,500 people attended and were entertained by varios arts organizations.
The ARTree led a scavenger hunt that brought young participants inside the library in search of art pieces. Over 300 participants had to find 6 art pieces distributed throughout the library.
The artwork was created by ARTree buds in various mediums, paint, sculpture, and photography.
